Biologists discover living things are products of intelligent design, instead of accident and chance.

Biologists have discovered that living things are products of intelligent design, instead of accident and chance. On the molecular level, most biological functions are performed by molecular machines. They process information, convert energy, metabolize nutrients, move material along the membranes and build proteins. These machines are products of intelligent design and are not the result of evolution from simpler forms.

This is the Bacterial Flagellum. Bacteria use its flagellum as a microscopic rotary propeller to move efficiently within the human body. With over 50 different protein parts, such an irreducibly complex system could not have arisen by a gradual step-by-step Darwinian process. It was discovered in 1973.

God's design of living things is clear.

Do you know how the act of clearing one's throat works? It takes thousands of microscopic cilia to move mucus out of the throat. Cilia are hair-like organelles found on the surfaces of many animal and lower plant cells that serve to move fluid over the cell's surface. A cilium consists of a membrane-coated bundle of fibers. Cilia work when microtubules and the cross-links between them perform a controlled sliding and bending motion. Cilia are composed of at least a half dozen proteins; each protein must be present in order for the cilia to be functional. It cannot be formed by step-by-step evolution. Biologists have discovered that cilia are not accidental formations, but intelligent design.                                                           (graphics from:  www.arn.org )

Cells are biochemical factories. Endoplasmic reticulum produce proteins inside our cells and the Golgi body (left) is responsible for packaging proteins into a sack, and then transporting the proteins in little blebs which drift off into the  cytoplasm. This is just one example of the molecular machines found everywhere in living cell. They are like microscopic interlocking assembly lines in a factory with large protein machines of many moving parts. A system is designed with the coordination and division of purposeful and highly specific functions on the molecular level. No physical laws can explain how this kind of biological system came about; It is  surely not a product of chance and time.  They clearly demonstrates the design found in the Creation.

Where are the instructions for building life? DNA. The discovery of DNA revealed that at the core of biological life, there are molecular messages containing a vast quantity of information. This information provides the instructions needed to guide the functioning of cells. The DNA molecule is exquisitely complex, and extremely precise: the 'letters' must be in a very exact sequence. It is a structure for carrying complex instructions and information. No known physical laws can produce such high information content. The information is not intrinsic to the chemicals themselves: bases, sugars, and phosphates. This explains why particular sequences carry a particular message. At very core of living things, DNA reveals design, not accident.

"From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God." (Romans 1:20 NLT)
